I’m a Malmö-based UX Designer, born in Stockholm, raised in London, living with a Dane. I create with wireframes, communicate through user journeys and argue with data.
What I do.
Wireframes
The design process is a continuous collaboration between myself and the team. During the initial stages, I engage with the back-end team to discuss the requirements and explore our potential options. Working alongside a UI designer, we use Figma to create wireframes. Throughout this creative process, ongoing discussions take place with the front-end team to incorporate their perspectives on the design. Collaborating with the product owner, we break down the design into tickets to be addressed in the upcoming sprints. An instance where this approach didn't yield the expected results was in the design of the Activity list.
User Journeys
When faced with a design request, I initiate the process by outlining the journey associated with that request. This involves identifying other relevant products, understanding existing challenges, and recognizing potential design opportunities. Whenever feasible, I conduct benchmarking journeys to compare our approach with that of our competitors. These early-stage journeys are then presented to the entire team, including members from the back-end, front-end, and product ownership, to gather input.
The request is initially approached through a micro journey, which later integrates into a macro one. An illustrative example of this working method is evident in the project focused on marking an invoice as paid.
Data driven design
In my previous workplaces I’ve worked back to back with SEO and Google Analytics experts in my everyday. Following up my design and tests with data. My current job is not as mature in collecting data, which is one of the reason in why I thought the job to be interesting. We’re far from reaching our goal but we are getting there. From not doing any sorts of data driven design to learning to gather data across the company were moving slowly towards where we want to be.
